Fast, documented storm response — and honest insurance-claim documentation.
Not every Houston storm damages a roof, and the ones that do rarely announce it from the ground. After hail or high wind, the calm, useful next step is a careful look: what is actually damaged, what can wait, and what should be repaired before the next rain. That is what we do, with photos you can keep.
We are a residential roofing company first. After a storm our job is to repair or replace what the weather broke, the same way we would on any other day, and to document the damage clearly if you decide to involve your insurance company. In Spring, TX? See our Spring storm damage page for neighborhood-specific details.
Please do not climb onto a wet or storm-damaged roof. Most of the useful clues can be seen safely from your yard and driveway.
Whole shingles, tabs, or ridge caps on the ground mean something is open up top, even if you cannot see the gap.
Fresh dents in gutters, downspouts, window screens, or the fins of your A/C unit are a good sign that hail was big enough to mark the roof too.
A pile of dark, sand-like grit where a downspout empties can mean hail knocked the protective granules off your shingles.
Wind lifts shingle edges and folds tabs back. From the street, look for lines that no longer lie flat or patches of a different color.
A stain that appears after a storm, especially near an exterior wall or under a valley, needs attention before the next rain.
Even a limb that looks light can puncture shingles and decking. Leave removal to someone with the right equipment.

Hail leaves round or irregular marks where granules have been knocked away, exposing the black asphalt underneath. On a closer look the spot often feels soft, like a bruise, because the fiberglass mat inside the shingle has fractured. Those bruises may not leak on day one, but they age much faster than the shingle around them. Hail also dents vents, flashing, and ridge caps.
Wind damage looks different: creased tabs that were bent back and broke the seal strip, shingles missing entirely, and exposed nails or underlayment along ridges and roof edges. A shingle that has lost its seal will keep lifting in every storm after, so wind damage tends to spread if it is left alone.
Old wear is not storm damage. Blistering, curling from heat, and granule loss spread evenly across a slope are signs of age, and we will tell you honestly which is which.
Keep off the roof, stay clear of downed lines, and move valuables away from any active leak.
If water is coming in, a temporary emergency tarp limits interior damage.
Take dated photos from the ground and write down when the storm hit. We add drone and ground photos with measurements.
With the facts in hand, choose a repair, a replacement, or whether to contact your insurer.
Want to confirm what hit your area and when? The NOAA Storm Events Database and the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston office publish storm reports for Harris and Montgomery counties.
If the damage looks significant, you may choose to file a claim with your homeowners insurance company. Your insurer sends its own adjuster, and your insurer alone decides what the policy covers. What we provide is the contractor side: a photo record of the damage, roof measurements, and a written contractor estimate for the repair or replacement. If you would like, we can be there when the adjuster inspects the roof so the damage we documented is easy to find.
Two things we will always be straightforward about. First, your deductible is your responsibility. The Texas Department of Insurance notes that state law makes it illegal for contractors or roofers to offer to waive a deductible or promise a rebate for it, and we follow that law. Second, we cannot promise any claim will be approved. Some storms simply do not cause covered damage, and when that is the case we will tell you so. Learn more on our insurance claim documentation page.
Scattered wind damage on a younger roof is usually a roof repair. Widespread hail bruising, or storm damage on a roof that was already near the end of its life, often points to a roof replacement. If you are replacing anyway, it is worth pricing impact-rated shingles such as the Class 4 Atlas StormMaster lines alongside standard architectural shingles.
We document the damage and provide a contractor estimate to support your claim. We are a roofing contractor and do not act as a public adjuster.

Hail leaves scattered, bruise-like marks with granules knocked away, often alongside dents in gutters and vents. Age shows up as curling, blistering, and granule loss spread evenly across a slope. We photograph what we find and tell you honestly which one you are looking at.
